Skin Care and Anti Aging

Your VIP Membership is the only plan you will need to care for your skin. Our skin professionals will discuss your specific skin needs and concerns to uniquely design a skin care plan to meet your goals and fit your daily life. Depending on many factors including the amount of environmental and sun damage, age, lifestyle factors and the overall health and condition of your skin.

It's been said enough to qualify as a cliché, but today, age truly is just a number. What that number actually looks like in the mirror is in your control.

Combating the signs of aging begins with understanding what causes them. Over time, your skin loses volume and elasticity. This is part of the normal aging process, but it is something that many people wish to find a way to fight. In addition to the creams, serums, and beauty products you can use at home, the field of aesthetics offers several professional treatments that will help restore volume and elasticity, helping you to look younger.

You will begin with treatments in Phase I- the corrective phase of your skin. Phase I can take as little as 3 months up to a year, depending on your age, the current health and condition of your skin, and what you want to achieve. Treatment levels from Light to Advanced will be considered to meet you skincare needs.

Next is Phase II- this phase is to preserve and maintain your skin. During this phase choose Light to Moderate Treatments to preserve and maintain your rejuvenated skin. Mature skin may need a periodic Advanced Treatment.

Enhancements may be necessary with the presence of certain skin conditions requiring additional treatments, i.e. persistent acne, acne scarring, melasma, rosacea, wrinkles, deep folds, and loss of skin volume.

Along the way your skin care professional will evaluate your at-home skincare regimen to ensure the products you are using are effective and beneficial to your skin.

Which Professional Skin Care Anti-Again level is right for you?

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, aging begins during the mid-20s and progresses slowly through the decades. If it’s anti-aging that’s on your mind, prevention is better than cure and establishing a good routine now will prevent damage later. In addition to the right skincare products – like those we have available from PCA Skin and Vitelle – there are non-surgical treatments you should start to consider too.

Phase I
Choose monthly Light Treatments to preserve and maintain youthful, healthy skin.

Phase II
Choose Moderate Treatments when a problem needs to be corrected, as necessary, for active acne and scarring.

The first signs of aging are visible in the early to mid-30s. These signs are accelerated in those who have spent extensive time in the sun in their teens and 20s. The result:

  • Skin appears drier
  • Fine expression lines and wrinkles begin to appear
  • Uneven complexion and sunspots
  • Skin starts to lose some of its youthful glow

At Sleek Laser & Skin Center, our non-surgical experts are on hand to guide you through the various treatments available to you - whether you’ve got a specific condition you need to address or just want to give your skin a refresher.

Phase I
Correct with Moderate Treatments- Diminish fine lines, acne, uneven skin tone, and sun damage.

Phase II
Preserve and Maintain with monthly Light Treatments and an occasional Moderate Treatment.

Advanced Treatments only when correcting problems such as acne scarring or visible pre-mature aging.

Botox is being used more and more frequently by people trying to do preventative treatments. Waiting until lines become etched into the skin means it's much more difficult to smooth their appearance again. Botox is used for lines and wrinkles that are formed by muscle movement such as scowling (creates lines between brows), raising the eyebrows (creates horizontal lines) and squinting (contributes to crow’s feet). Often by starting Botox preventatively, people, and their muscles, can actually learn to not make certain faces and expressions and contribute to worsening their lines.

Many of the changes that started to appear in the 30s are more pronounced in the 40s. During this decade the skin changes are primarily due to premenopausal changes occurring inside the body. Skin cells start to turn over even more slowly than in the 30s. The skin’s collagen starts to break down. The skin’s elastic tissue starts to lose some of its elasticity. The result:

  • Skin gets drier
  • Skin appears duller
  • Skin starts to lose tightness
  • Fine expression lines appear around the eyes and mouth
  • Signs of photo-aging increase (e.g., sunspots, blotchiness, unevenness, lines)
  • Skin texture appears less smooth

The best way forward is often a combination of treatments – why not discuss your options with our Treatment Consultants?

Phase I
Correct with Moderate & Advanced Treatments- Diminish fine lines and improve wrinkles, calm adult acne, brighten and correct uneven skin tone, environmental and sun damage

Phase II
Preserve and Maintain with monthly Light and Moderate Treatments

Botox® is a tried and tested skin treatment we frequently use to treat like lines and wrinkles. It works by relaxing the muscles and smoothing out lines around the forehead and eyes.

Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm® and Radiesse™ gently soften wrinkles, lines and can fill out hollows to create the smooth contours of younger skin - without surgery. As your skin ages, it loses the collagen that helps to shape and support it. Dermal fillers replace this volume.

A loss of volume in your cheeks can have an effect on the overall shape of your face. However, dermal fillers plump and smooth the skin, to counteract the effects of ageing and enrich your skin. Dermal fillers can also help to treat deeper lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.

Lip enhancement
Juvederm® Ultra Plus is a popular treatment among women in their 40s who have lost definition around their lips.

By this decade the changes seen in the 40s are more pronounced. As estrogen levels drop post-menopause, the skin’s natural oil production decreases due to the reduced size of the oil glands. The result is even drier skin. The skin also gets more fragile; therefore it is injured easily and is slow to heal. There is also increased loss of elasticity, especially around the eyes. The skin around the neck may also start to droop. The result:

  • Skin looks dry and lackluster
  • Expression lines and wrinkles are deeper
  • Eyelids begin to wrinkle
  • Neck starts to droop
  • Texture appears rough

The best way to treat your skin is through a combination of procedures. This is why we’ll take time to listen to your skin concerns at your consultation and help guide you down the right path to give you the best results.

Phase I
Correct with Advanced & Moderate Treatments- Diminish fine lines, soften moderate wrinkles lines, lessen deep folds, brighten uneven skin, improve poor elasticity, and correct environmental and sun damage

Phase II
Preserve and Maintain with monthly Light and Moderate Treatments. Advanced treatments a few times a year

Botox® is a tried and tested skin treatment we frequently use to treat like lines and wrinkles. It works by relaxing the muscles and smoothing out lines around the forehead and eyes.

Lip enhancement
Many women suffer a loss of lip definition in their 50s, but treatments such as Juvederm® Ultra Plus can address the issue. This is a great treatment if you’re looking for plumped, more defined lips.

Dermal fillers
Suffered a noticeable volume loss in the skin on your face? It’s another common problem facing women in their 50s – and can even have an effect on the overall shape of your face. However, dermal fillers can address the situation, plumping up and filling out the skin while also softening lines and wrinkles.
